Hey, welcome! I’m Sarah Seveney (Sev). I’m a tattoo artist, vanlifer, and obsessive traveler. This website is part personal blog, part tattoo portfolio, and will soon have a store for t-shirts, prints, and stickers! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like it here!
Just below, there’s a carousel of recent blog posts, and below that, the short-ish version of my backstory and a small photo gallery of some past travels!
WHO am i?
The photo above is a shot of my cozy little bed, and beyond it, a grassy field stretching out past the open back doors of my home, a 2000 Chevy Astro cargo van. I’ve been a full time solo vanlifer for over three years now. In that time I’ve felt more free (and taken more roadtrips) than at any other time in my life, but before I started vanlife, there was still a lot of traveling.
I'm originally from Rhode Island, but I’ve lived in a few different states, and visited/lived in a dozen different countries (the longest stretches were in the Dominican Republic, South Korea, China, and Hong Kong, but I also spent significant amounts of time in Nepal, India, Thailand, Spain, Poland, and Ecuador, and had an awesome time being a tourist in Japan, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, France, Italy, and Portugal). Before I started tattooing, I taught English as a Second Language, and spent almost a decade living abroad. These are just a few of my favorite photos from that time:
These days, I’m living the sweet, simple #vanlife in the Philadelphia area, with trips to other states to tattoo in different shops. I love living in my van—just me, my art supplies, vegan food, and my desire to hike every good trail in the Mid-Atlantic (and beyond:).
I feel that my love of the outdoors is reflected in my art. I specialize in flora and fauna tattoos featuring soft black and grey shading, and/or black or color dotwork. There are lots of examples of this in the Tattoo Gallery, and I’m adding more all the time (I also have a gallery for all my designs that are currently available to be tattooed)!
I’ve added a few more photos below, kayaking near my family’s house in Rhode Island, hiking in Shenandoah, etc. Feel free to ask questions about vanlife, travel, or to reach out with any tattoo ideas (I really love hearing from you guys!)...and thank you for stopping by to check out my site!
Love,
Sev
